I was diagnosed with familial lipoprotein lipase deficiency when I was 15 years old. I am now 18 years old and I don’t know much about it. None of the doctors I’ve seen know much either. I have been given a suggested diet, but not any information other than that. I haven’t met anyone else who has the same condition as me, but I have heard from family members that one of my great aunts died from a severe case of pancreatitis.

I have abdominal pain pretty frequently, but my doctors don’t take me seriously. I am afraid of what might happen to me. I try to follow my suggested diet, but I sometimes eat things with a high fat content.
